<p>8 Find new target audiences for your products or services. For example, if you&#8217;re selling coffee to<br />

<p>2 - Anticipate any objections your visitors may have about your product’s offer. You must research your<br />

<p>3 - Remember not to use outrageous or unbelievable claims in your ad copy. People are too savvy online<br />

<p>5 - Solve your customers’ complaints by being quick and friendly. The faster you respond, the more your<br />
customers feel you care about them. You could set up a handy FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) list.<br />
You could also add more ways they contact you faster, like by e-mail, phone, web message system,<br />
fax, instant message, cell phone, etc.</p>
<p>6 - Never think your customers are satisfied with their purchase. You should be constantly finding<br />
new ways to over-deliver and improve your product and service. You could give them free surprise gifts,<br />
survey your customers, take all their opinions and questions seriously, set up focus groups to improve<br />

<p>Your messages to Congress over the past six days have made a difference! Last  night, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) introduced S. 3268 - the Stop  Excessive Speculation Act. Senators Richard Durbin (D-IL), Patty Murray (D-WA),  Byron Dorgan (D-ND), and Charles Schumer (D-NY) co-sponsored the bill. The bill  is a good first step towards ensuring that formerly &#8220;dark&#8221; over-the-counter  markets will now be required to do business in the sunshine and to ensure that  no one entity unduly controls the market.<span id="more-131"></span></p>
<p>The bill creates a much needed distinction between legitimate hedgers and  those who are in the market for purely speculative purposes, ensuring that  traders who have no relationship to the physical product are unable to take  advantage of existing loopholes. Specifically, the bill would close the &#8220;Foreign  Board of Trade&#8221; or &#8220;London Loophole&#8221; by requiring transparency and limits  similar to those required for trading on U.S. exchanges.</p>
<p>We are asking the hundreds of thousands of individuals who sent advocacy  messages through <a href="http://www.StopOilSpeculationNow.com" title="http://www.StopOilSpeculationNow.com" target="_blank">www.StopOilSpeculationNow.com</a> to send a message to their  Senators urging their support of S. 3268, which is expected to be brought to the  floor for a procedural vote later this week.  In addition, we remain committed  to other measures that will increase domestic supply in an environmentally  responsible manner.</td>

<p>The goal of the experiment was to see how it would progress, if at all, without any external influence.  Bearing in mind, other than minimal submission nothing has been done to gain traffic.  No PPC, etc., The results have been pretty close to what was expected.<span id="more-128"></span></p>
<p>The site <a href="http://www.technewsdirect.com/">http://www.technewsdirect.com</a> was placed on a dedicated ip using shared hosting from GoDaddy.  While initial interest from search engines appeared to be positive, (it was indexed fairly quickly due to the sitemap submission to Google and Yahoo, and use of google analytics) however traffic has been flat at best.</p>
<p>Google analytics, as of today, shows 242 visits and 296 pageviews.  95% of these visits were prior to June 16, 2008 when traffic slumped from an average of 8 visits/day down to 1.</p>

<p>I read on multiple sites that Google was smart enough to figure out the RSS provided content and would eventually dump the site based on this fact.  I am not totally sure that the crash can be totally attributed to this claim, however the data obviously points to something sinister.</p>
<p>So, I&#8217;m going to spend a couple hours digging through the logs to see if I can find an alternative explanation, but at this point it&#8217;s not looking good.</p>

<p>‘STOP OIL SPECULATION NOW’ COALITION CALLS FOR ACTION TO STOP RECORD ENERGY PRICE INCREASES</p>
<p>WASHINGTON, July 11, 2008 – Record-high oil prices are hurting American families<br />
and damaging our nation’s economy. In response to this growing crisis, 38 organizations<br />
have joined together to push for effective short-, mid- and long-term solutions to help<br />
materially reduce unnecessarily high energy prices.</p>
<p>“This country is experiencing its worst energy crisis ever, driven by a confluence<br />
of factors, including a weak U.S. dollar, geopolitical tensions, limited supplies, strong<br />
global demand and the lack of a cohesive and comprehensive national energy policy,”<br />
ATA President and CEO James C. May said, speaking on behalf of all of the coalition<br />
members. “This crisis deserves the full attention of Congress – now – not next week, next<br />
month or next year. It is too important to wait. We believe that the fastest way to get oil<br />
prices under control in the short term is by reducing reckless and unfair speculation in the<br />
futures markets while, at the same time, enacting measures for the mid and long term to<br />
expand oil supplies, enhance efforts to advance alternative and renewable energy sources<br />
and improve energy conservation across the board.”</p>
<p>“Without question, energy futures markets, when functioning with proper<br />
oversight, serve a useful purpose, especially to bona fide hedgers. But in today’s distorted<br />
market, rampant oil speculation is devastating both businesses and consumers,” the<br />
coalition asserts. “Reasonable financial controls and transparency, which have been<br />
eliminated at the urging of the big speculation market players, need to be reestablished,”<br />
said May.</p>
<p>“Numerous experts from around the world peg the impact of oil speculation at<br />
$20 to $60 per barrel. That translates into between $0.48 and $1.43 at the gas pump. In<br />
recent months, the number of ‘paper barrels’ traded by speculators has risen dramatically,<br />
peaking at 22 times the physical market on June 6, when crude oil shot up $11 in one<br />
session. Interestingly too, that spike came immediately on the heels of a prediction of<br />
$150 per barrel oil by one of the speculators with the most to gain by the increase.”<br />
“Oil speculation has upset the traditional balance between supply and demand,”<br />
said Michael W. Masters, short equity hedge fund portfolio manager and founder of<br />
Masters Capital Management, LLC. “If Congress would pass meaningful speculation<br />
reform, oil prices would drop significantly within a matter of days or weeks.”</p>
<p>The Stop Oil Speculation Now coalition, in addition to its mid- and long-term supply<br />
and conservation elements, is calling for Congress to push for lower prices immediately<br />
by:<br />
• Strengthening regulations weakened by the Enron Loophole and other loopholes<br />
• Limiting the amount of oil that individuals or groups can trade speculatively in<br />
the energy futures markets while unfairly driving up prices<br />
• Requiring reporting by unregulated, secret markets like the swaps market: All<br />
markets should have basic regulations that report the amount of oil people are<br />
buying, no matter who they are or where they reside<br />
• Make foreign traders follow U.S. rules and laws, just like everyone else who does<br />
business in the United States</p>
<p>“This campaign will result in one million messages being sent to Congress in just the<br />
last three days by concerned citizens mobilized by the SOS Coalition,” said May. “This<br />
movement is just beginning to grow and we predict it will not stop until Congress acts.”</p>
<p>The Stop Oil Speculation Now coalition is a diverse and growing organization of<br />
industries, businesses, labor groups and ultimately concerned citizens united in support of<br />
responsible energy policies and prices.</p>
