Rod Beckstrom - New US Cybersecurity Czar“His speaker bio at Global Leaders says that he’s “passionate about clean technology and environmental markets and serves on the board of Environmental Defense.” His Amazon profile lists the following as his interests: “sailing, snowboarding, micro-lending, peace networking, social networks, high-tech start ups, entrepreneurship, leaderless leadership, travel.” Truly, he’s a fantastic choice for a leadership position at the Environmental Protection Agency or the Department of Energy in an era when so-called “green technology” is emerging as the next frontier for US innovation… except that Rod A. Obviously you’ve neither never met Rod Beckstrom nor read his work. I dare you to spend an hour with him and tell me he’s not the best person to be named the new US cybersecurity czar. I met Rod while managing the tech for development practice at the United Nations and was immediately impressed with his deep knowledge of the most urgent tech issues we face and also his practical, get-it-done attitude based on decades of experience in the private sector. Perhaps a more refined glass of California red than the sour grapes from which you sip?

Thanks Sarah for the contribution. I personally feel that Mr. Beckstrom, which you are correct, I do not personally know, is a great candidate. The article actually states that crypto “guru” Bruce Schneier is the one that is not impressed with Rod Beckstrom. Thanks again for the contribution
